The International Theatre Company London is presenting a stage adaptation of Oscar Wilde's classic novella "The Picture of Dorian Gray" on tour in Japan until June 12.
Wilde's character Dorian Gray, whose life of unbridled vice leaves his youthful good looks unmarked while his hidden portrait grows old and hideous, is one of the great Faustian images of the 20th century. The story has been dramatized by director Paul Stebbings, whose achievements festival awards at Edinburgh, the Munich Biennale and New York's Off-Broadway Festival.
