The shy Supernova, featured here last October, caught the eye of Americans Jason and Kaitlin Glenn on a visit to one of ARK's adoption events. The Glenns, who now live in Kanagawa, grew up in families with dogs and decided to get their first dog as a married couple while living in Japan. "We both noticed the beautiful, shy Shiba puppy," says Jason, and Supernova was soon adopted. "She's is a wonderful addition to our home and as much a part of our family as any human would be." Supernova, aka Nova, aka Nova-chan, "has definitely come out of her shell since coming to our home and can be quite boisterous at times. She is 'our little wolf' when she comes home full of energy and ready to play." She surprised the Glenns when on her first hiking trip up Mount Bukka, Nova executed the steep, rocky climb with "surprising agility and endurance." When Nova's not out exploring the region, she enjoys standing watch at the living room window or napping on the bed in preparation for her next expedition.
Many other cats and dogs are available for adoption. Email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more info. Tokyo ARK is an NPO dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals. Animals are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Prospective owners are requested to undergo a screening process.
