Abbey is an unusual mix of German shepherd and Rottweiler, a mix that, from her closely docked tail, looks to have not been accidental.
The 8-year-old Abbey is bigger than most shepherds. She has more of a Rottweiler's stocky build, but her lovely coloring is all shepherd.
Though she can be rather intimidating due to her low, husky voice and size (she is heavy!), those people with a bit of experience with big dogs will soon see that she's really just a big softie. She's a pushover with people and her way of greeting you like a long-lost friend is likely to make a pushover out of you too.
She will nudge you because she wants you to pat her, to stroke her, to give her love and attention and, most of all, the affection we think she deserves . . . so bad.
If you are interested in adopting Abbey, email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more information. Tokyo ARK is an NPO founded by Briton Elizabeth Oliver. It is dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Prospective new owners are requested to undergo a screening process.
