Astro, a mix of Western and Japanese breeds, was rescued from a pound. He came to ARK in March 2011 when he was about 1 year old.
At the time, his boundless energy was likely one factor behind his not getting chosen for a new home — that and the fact he had a lot of competition from other pups.
Three years later, Astro is nearly the size of a Labrador retriever but slimmer, more streamlined. And he has mellowed. Though he is still an exuberant dog, he is not at all aggressive. One ARK worker describes Astro as "the most terrific dog — infinitely trainable, extremely affectionate, incredibly clever, playful, loyal and observant."
It's a dazzling recommendation, one to which Astro also brings his stellar looks. Astro has spent three long years in the pen. We're hoping someone can help a good guy out.
If you are interested in adopting Astro, please email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more information. Tokyo ARK is an NPO founded by Briton Elizabeth Oliver dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
