Punkie Anna (above right) was first featured here in June 2013. Rescued from a pound with her brother, she has found a home with the Yamamotos of Osaka. Yoshiko and Fumiharu Yamamoto actually adopted Punkie Too (above left) first and took in Punkie Anna later. Yoshiko said the decision to adopt Anna did not come easily.
"I told myself that I would never manage two dogs. Then I decided I had to go with my feelings, whether it was impulsive or not. I had to get Anna." She did. That was seven months ago. "With the two dogs around, our lifestyle has changed completely. They wear us out, but it's great exercise. We're fitter than ever. We have also made more friends than ever thanks to our dogs." Yoshiko says.
"They are big, powerful dogs, so we realized we needed to get help from professional dog trainers to train them properly. We also realized that you have to pay for what you get — we happily spend money on dog training, dog food and vaccinations, etc., but have really cut down on spending on ourselves!" she admits. "Almost every day is a new episode. They have really enriched our lives. I suppose all homes with dogs feel this way. They really are the 'spice of life.' "
Many other cats and dogs are available for adoption. Please email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more information.
