I don't really care, because it will happen regardless of what I think. That's how politics work. Even though I vote, I'm still powerless. I don't support Koizumi because he does nothing.

Yes. The post office has been left as an old-fashioned system for too long. It's inefficient. With one of the largest set of assets in the world, it needs to be addressed better as a business.
Mayumi Ogawa
Office worker, 33
Yeah, I support Koizumi. Every year the government spends too much tax. We have many problems, like the low birthrate. We have to spend a lot for pensions. Politicians don't care about how they spend.

No. The post office is a social service, not something that should be geared for profit. Privatization is a nice big word, but all it means is that people lose their jobs.

It's not such a good idea. In my hometown, Sapporo, there is a local post office, but if the system is privatized, my nearest post office might close. My grandmother and grandfather can't drive so they need it.
Shiho Toyosawa
Administration, 29
Yes. If the post office stays government run, it won't last long. However, old and rural people rely on the post office. If it is privatized, the focus will be on profit and offices will be cut.
