Credit cards have insurance, but cash cards don't. The Japanese banks just say to customers that they will keep their, but they can't promise to protect it.

Biometrics as bank security is a bit of a worry as far as privacy goes, because that's information that can be accessed by other persons, but I don't think that banks should have to pay.

I think they should pay because their insurance covers them for it, and they're highly profitable. When I pay bank fees I expect good service. They have to protect customers as much as shareholders.

It's important that the banks take responsibility. The problem comes from the ATM cards themselves -- they're not secure. But biometrics as a security measure is too much.

The system at the moment is insecure, so banks should pay. The law at the moment is protecting the banks, so the most important thing is a change in legislation in favor of customers.

I think the banks should be responsible for account security. That's one of the reasons you keep your money in a bank, rather than the box under the bed.
