A Christmas market hits Tokyo's Ginza until Dec. 25. More than 6,000 items will be for sale in the Wainright Hall on the ninth floor of the Kyo Bun Kwan Building, across from Matsuya department store. On Dec. 3, 4, 8 and 12, woodcraft masters will demonstrate the art of making wooden dolls from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. and 4 p.m.-6 p.m. "Weihnachtsmarkt aus Deutschland" will be open 11 a.m.-8 p.m. (to 5 p.m. on the last day) through Dec. 25.

At the Swedish Embassy, a Christmas bazaar will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Dec. 5 arranged by the Japan branch of the Swedish Women's Education Assocation.

The highlight of the day will be the St. Lucia carol singing starting at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. There will be 100 seats for each perforamnce. The Swedish Embassy (1-10-3-100 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo) is a few minutes' walk from Hotel Okura.

The Nordic Church Committee in Kanto will have a Norwegian-language Advent carol singing Sunday service by Tokai University students from 4 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the Shibuya Church (2-14-12 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) of the United Church of Christ in Japan (Nihon Kirisuto Kyodan).

A Ukrainian coloratura soprano Stepanyuk Oksana will sing to a Ukrainian harp, in a Christmas service in Tokyo's Ginza district on Dec. 2.

The service will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Dec. 2 at the Ginza Church of the United Church of Christ (Nihon Kirisuto Kyodan).
