Two years ago, as a balance to researching and writing up projects for financial institutions in the U.S. and preparing reports for fund managers in Japan, Christine Cunanan-Miki began a novel -- a series of interrelated tales about expats in Tokyo.
"It was inspired by a dinner party, when one of our guests, a banker, kept me laughing all night as he related his various escapades with Japanese girlfriends."
This is Christine's first work of fiction, and apparently it will not be the last. She published "Tokyo Stories" (subtitled "Life, Love and Laughter in the Big City") earlier this year under her own imprint, Oshino Books. Oshino is the name of the small village near her weekend house in the foothills of Mount Fuji.
