On April 12, the government published a report on human rights of foreigners in Japan.
Three thousand Japanese were asked if they think that foreigners should enjoy protection of human rights to the extent of Japanese.
Overall, 54 percent said that foreigners should have the same protection of human rights as Japanese. This is a steady decline from 68.3 percent 10 years ago, and 65.5 percent five years ago.
