From Cowal to Kolwoon and from Braemar to Bangkok, wherever you find Scots, you'll find Highland Games.
This year, the 20th Annual Japan-Scottish Highland Games will be held on Sunday Oct. 20, from 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., n the grounds of Ueno Gakuen's Soka Campus.
The origins of the Highland Games are shrouded in the proverbial 'Scots mist', but most historians agree that they probably started out some 1,500 years ago when hill tribes and clans in the highlands of Scotland gathered to trade, swap news and stories, celebrate royal births and marriages and to prepare for war or to celebrate victory.
