On July 25th, in a stunning about face, News Corporation announced the continued broadcast of the 24-hour news channel, Foxnews.
Originally claiming that it did not have enough viewership in Japan to justify the cost, the Rupert Murdoch-owned international broadcasting conglomerate had set an Aug. 1 date for the demise for the channel on Japan's SkyperfecTV.
As the result of a rare show of resolve for the international community, usually left on the sidelines by the mainstream in Japan, it was a special victory.
