I make no apology for introducing Azzah a second time around, even though I made a ideological promise 15 years ago never to repeat an interview. As someone who has benefited enormously from her help (i.e. loosened up, become more flexible), I believe everyone should have the chance to experience her powerful therapeutic workshops.
Azzah (which in Sufism means "birth, death and rebirth") is in Japan right now, working on a book about personal transformation, and preparing for weekend workshops in February at the Saitama Women's Center, one hour from Tokyo's Ikebukuro.
She grew up in a refugee camp near Sydney. "My Russian-Jewish mother and Azerbaijan-Sufi father fled Europe after the war." She never went to school, remaining illiterate until she was in her late teens. There was also the matter of her psychic powers.
