Tarot cards can be found in the game sections of toy shops, and there are hundreds of different decks. But Tarot is an ancient tradition, says tarot master Philippe Camoin, and the philosophy behind the cards is a powerful tool for awakening intelligence.
Camoin came to Japan in November at the invitation of Tadahiro Onuma, a former professor of philosophy at Nagoya University who has written and translated a number of books on the cabbala.
Philippe Camoin has been dubbed "the last card master on the planet" and the Keeper of the Tarot of Marseilles. He was literally born into a house of cards -- his father was a master card maker, a direct descendant of the Camoin card printers of Marseilles, credited with printing the original Tarot of Marseilles.
