How about closing the century with a spectacular astronomical adventure? Special planetarium shows using cutting-edge technology will be held Dec. 13-30 at Spiral Garden, Minami Aoyama.
Titled "Star Fantasium," the event features what the organizer says is the most advanced star projector in the world, developed by engineer Takayuki Ohira. Augmented by a multichannel surround sound system, the 25-minute show will offer visitors celestial wonders, from sunset in Tokyo and starry skies of the northern and the southern hemisphere to the Milky Way and auroras.
The planetarium seats 100 people under a 10-meter diameter dome. The shows will be held hourly from noon-9 p.m. Admission is 900 yen for adults, 700 yen for students and the elderly. Discounted advanced tickets will be available at ticket outlets.
Spiral Garden is located at the first floor on Spiral Bldg., in front of Omotesando subway station.
