Excuse me, has anyone seen Steven A. Haynes today? No? That's funny, he seems to be everywhere: on TV, on posters, in the papers, and in plays, movies and discos -- even on cruise ships. He acts, sings and dances his way around Japan, as if he's afraid the world might suddenly stop turning.
Haynes, who arrived in Tokyo in mid-1996 from his native San Francisco, immediately found a home away from home. Or more accurately -- it found him.
"One night at a disco back home I was just dancing and having a good time," said Haynes, smiling. "Out of nowhere, it seemed, a Japanese man and a Japanese lady in a kimono came up to me and asked me if I'd like to work in Japan.
