During my tenure as the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Japan, my country witnessed a change in leadership as the Taliban took control in August 2021. Although the government that appointed me no longer exists, Japan has generously extended its hospitality, allowing me to continue representing the people of Afghanistan and encouraging me to pursue peace and stability in my country.
I’m profoundly appreciative of this opportunity and remain dedicated to making a positive impact once again.
Afghanistan boasts a rich cultural tapestry and diverse population, yet it has grappled with challenges related to inclusivity that have, at times, fueled instability — and that have become even more pronounced following the latest Taliban takeover.
