Roger Dahl has been contributing editorial cartoons and his Zero Gravity strip for The Japan Times since 1991. He also is an illustrator; his most recent project, a children's book called "Wisha Wozzariter" (Penguin Publishing), was released in 2012. An American from Seattle, he is a graduate of the University of Washington.

Traditional folk rituals like Mizudome-no-mai (dance to stop the rain) provide a sense of agency to a population that feels largely powerless in the face of the climate crisis.
As climate extremes intensify, Japan embraces ancient weather rituals
