The Utah Jazz have hired former Mitsubishi Diamond Dolphins head coach Antonio Lang as an assistant coach, the NBA team announced earlier this week.
Lang, 42, will work under new head coach Quin Snyder, who takes over a team that had the worst record in the Western Conference (25-57) in the 2013-14 campaign. The Jazz have five assistant coaches under contract for the upcoming season.
Mitsubishi, meanwhile, this week replaced Lang with Spaniard mentor Trifon Poch. Lang was the Diamond Dolphins head coach for four seasons, and the NBL club had a 29-25 regular-season record and advanced to the playoffs.
Lang and Snyder both played college ball at Duke University under legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. Lang, a forward, was selected 29th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 1994 NBA Draft. He played six seasons in the NBA.
