Toshiba's scoring champion Nick Fazekas had a game-high 29 points and the Brave Thunders punched a ticket to the NBL Finals with an 86-71 win over the Toyota Alvark in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals on Sunday.
The Kawasaki-based club advanced to the Finals when the league was called the JBL last year, and fell to the Aisin SeaHorses.
In the Western Conference finals, the SeaHorses tied the series at one game apiece with a 79-76 win over the Wakayama Trians
Center J.R. Sakuragi had 25 points while sharpshooter Kosuke Kanamaru followed with 16 for Aisin. For Wakayama, Takuya Kawamura racked up a game-high 34 points.
The decisive third game will begin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium.
