Central League president Hajime Toyokura said Tuesday Hiroshima Carp manager Marty Brown and right-hander Mike Romano have been fined 100,000 yen and 50,000 yen, respectively, for their outbursts during a game against the Chunichi Dragons on Sunday.
Brown and Romano were also both slapped with reprimands after Romano argued an umpire's call he believed should have been ruled a double play groundout to the shortstop with one out and a runner on first in the third inning of the game at Hiroshima Stadium.
The runner was ruled safe at first base, prompting Romano to curse profanities at the umpire before he was ejected from the game.
Brown protested Romano's ejection to no avail and was tossed from the game when he uprooted first base and hurled it onto the field.
