Legal challenges to President Donald Trump's first moves on immigration spread on Tuesday, with three states suing over his executive order banning travel to the United States by citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries.
Massachusetts, New York, Virginia and Washington joined the legal battle against the travel ban, which the White House deems necessary for national security.
The challenges contend that the order violated the U.S. Constitution's guarantee of religious freedom.
