A memorial service for kamikaze pilots who died in an attack on the battleship USS Missouri in spring 1945 will be held in April on board the ship in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, with Japanese and Americans in attendance, organizers said Monday.
Some 300 people are expected to attend the memorial service, including relatives of the kamikaze and of the captain and crew members of the Missouri, the organizers said.
It will be the first time for such rites to be held aboard the Missouri, which has been preserved as a public monument in Pearl Harbor.
