Japanese snack maker Koikeya has mastered the mix-two-unlikely-flavors-together strategy over the past year.
They received plenty of attention in 2015 for their "breakfast fruit" series of potato chips, which included such flavors as mandarin orange and peach. And now they've gone viral with Strawberry Shortcake-flavored chips (¥160). But the chips themselves don't really deserve the attention: each one tastes of overly sweet fake-strawberry flavor followed by the flavor of classic potato chips.
The only weird thing going on with Koikeya's latest odd coupling is the deeply unpleasant taste it leaves in your mouth.
