The New York borough of Brooklyn has been a hotbed of culinary trends over the past decade. And now Japan's Mister Donut wants to cash in on the city's brand of cool.
Launched as Brooklyn D&D, this new "donut and danish" hybrid (¥194) comes in four varieties: caramel nuts, strawberry, banana chocolate and the stunningly boring bran.
Save for the last flavor, the D&D strikes the right amount of sweetness with the flakiness of the treat's danish element. It may not yet be Brooklyn-approved, but it's an affordable and serviceable snack.
