Bon, who turned 5 just this week, was given up when his previous owners landed in dire financial straits.
Though they complained of some "bad habits" of his, absolutely none have manifested themselves since he's been with his foster family in Tokyo.
In fact, Bon seems to be, exactly like his name, a very "good" dog. He's an unusual mix of cocker spaniel and Polish lowland sheepdog, and has been described as a "goofy big ball of fluff with great big feet."
He weighs 16 kg now and needs to trim down by about 2 kg. His fluffy fur is nonshedding, an absolute godsend for people with allergies and dark carpets. Though goofy, it's just his way of having fun.
Bon is not silly; he's eager to please, happy, shows his belly to all, loves walks and attention. He's not ecstatic about small children, but he'll keep his distance, not growl, and he prefers to chase cats rather than cozy up to them. Bon is what we'd call a "real dog," one we think is not just good but great!
If you are interested in adopting Bon, email ARK at [email protected] or call 050-1557-2763 Monday to Saturday (bilingual) for more information. Tokyo ARK is an NPO founded by Elizabeth Oliver dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals. All animals are vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Prospective owners are requested to undergo a screening process.
